|Description||Materials collected by Jim Bolus on the Experimental Free Handicap. The Experimental Free Handicap is judged by three secretaries appointed by the Jockey Club who assign weights to horses when they are two years old. The results of the Experimental Free Handicap are published in late December, early January when the horses turn three years old. The purpose of the judging is to evaluate possible Kentucky Derby runners. Includes numerous magazine and newspaper articles. Also includes two black and white photos. One photo is of Rockhill Native. The other photos are of Experimental Free Handicap judges Lenard C. Hale, Frank E. Kilroe, and Thomas E. Trotter.|
