First segment is a press conference with Laz Barrera, trainer of 1978 Kentucky Derby winner Affirmed, prior to the 1978 Preakness Stakes. Barrera discusses his children, particularly son Albert Barrera, who has also become a trainer and has a horse in the Preakness. He also answers questions about Affirmed, and shares his outlook on the upcoming racee.

Second segment begins abruptly. It is a press conference with John Veitch, trainer of Alydar, prior to the 1978 Preakness Stakes. Much of the audio at the beginning of this segment is unintelligble. Veitch discusses his horse's recent second place finish against Affirmed in the Kentucky Derby, recent workouts, and his strategy for the upcoming Preakness Stakes.

First segment is a press conference with Woody Stephens, trainer of Believe It. Stephens answers questions about his horse's recent workouts, and analyzes his recent third place finish in the Kentucky Derby against Affirmed and Alydar. He also discusses strategy for the upcoming Preakness Stakes, and Believe It's prospects for future racing and stud career.

Second segment is a very brief clip of trainer Laz Barerra, likely describing his horse Affirmed's relaxed temperment. He shares an anecdote about how much the horse likes to sleep.

Thid segment contains audio from the 1978 Preakness Alibi Breakfast. Several unknown speakers share jokes and anecdotes about the trainers, owners, jockeys, and others associated with the upcoming race. Trainers John Veitch and Laz Barrera take questions from the audience discussing their horses, strategies, and the recent Kentucky Derby. Difficult to hear clearly at times, due to background noise of crowded room.

In the fourth segment Laz Barrera discusses his training philosophies and shares experiences and advice he has given to owners. He also discusses his outlook and expectations for the upcoming Preakness.
